BAGHEERA  Oscar worthy, proof-of-concept

Bagheera Poster 2020 Smaller_edited.jpg

Shot in Mumbai, in Hindi language, Inter-Weaver's 18 minute film participated in over 85 international festivals and won 28 awards, including the highly coveted Audience award at Oscar qualifying, Cleveland International Film Festival.

Synopsis:

Bagheera is the determined young leader of an Indian girl scout troop. Abducted one evening after a meeting with her pack, she uses the many skills of her achievement badges to fend off a would-be rapist and serve up a scorching retribution.

Thematically, Bagheera addresses a major issue facing many societies throughout the world today, the violent denigration of women. Whilst the subject is dark and poignant, the delivery is uplifting.

Bagheera reminds us that courage and resourcefulness are two of humanity’s most powerful tools.

I was 100% sure the film was directed by an Indian film maker!
